Exploring the Sierra Madre of Mexico for gold and base metals.
Between January of 2009 and June of 2011 Minera Camargo rented two Caterpillar tractors to GMD Ingenieria y Construccion, S.A.B. for the purpose of building the new highway between Durango and Mazatlan. The highway includes 9 intelligent tunnels longer than 400 m, 51 conventional tunnels and 151 bridges. Puente Baluarte is the highest bridge in Latin America with a height of 520 m above the Rio Baluarte Canyon. Minera Camargo mainly worked near La Guasima. Besides renting the heavy equipment to GMD, we operated and supported our machines and work crews. Support included: (i) on-site machine repair and maintenance, (ii) camp installation and meal services for workers and equipment operators and (iii) fuel delivery to the work site.
